I am writing to announce the inaugural University of Colorado School of Medicine Pre-Med Emergency & Wilderness Medicine Program, designed specifically for undergraduate students (or recent grads) interested in medical, nursing, PA, PT, or dental school (or other related health professions). Registration is now open for three offerings of the program this summer: June 1-13; August 8-20; and August 20-September 1.
The program involves a week on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with lectures (mainly by medical school faculty), scenarios, simulation labs, emergency department shadowing, and EMS ride-alongs covering general and emergency medicine and then a week at a camp in the heart of the Rockies where we’ll focus more on wilderness medicine including lectures, lots of scenarios, and a three-day backpacking experience.
We are actively seeking a diverse student body. Five to six full scholarships, based on need, are available for each of the sections.
You can learn more about the program at http://www.coloradowm.org/ undergraduate_courses.html, or directly register athttps://www.regonline.com/ UofColoEmergWildMed.

The Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges is pleased to announce that the VetSchool Student Engagement System (VSES) is now live. While still in its infancy, the program will automate targeted newsletters and other information specific to the category they assign when signing up. High School, Undergraduates, Pre-Vets, Applicants, Advisors and Parents are among the first groups to be included in this system. Future iterations of the system will allow pre-applicants to request information from any of the AAVMC member institutions and automatically feed these requests directly to our school recruitment / admissions offices.
Monthly content will begin flowing out of AAVMC in May 2014, but the system is now taking subscriptions.
For more information on the system, or to sign up please go to:http://aavmc.org/vses.aspx or you may email:vetschools@aavmc.org.
